    Hi Denny,

     

    it’s indeed a hand cranked bench drill. I found it on ebay one day and had to have it. I use it not very often though, because the feed mechanism is a bit finicky to adjust and I own another huge cast iron drill press. For some reason it works incredibly well with forester bits!

    I’d recomend a look at the Ashley Isles MK II chisels. Very nice, very sharp and a good price.

    In my book the PM-V11 steel makes a huge difference with plane irons but chisels get blunt very quickly anyway and you have to resharpen more often.

    Hi Bilbo,

     

    where in ZA is your Museum located? I’ll be in CT in October and would love to come by if it’s not to far away. No experience with Marqueterie though, but with hand tool woodworking in general.
