Gary, thanks for purchasing the DVD! Yes, the assumption is that viewers either know how to mill up boards or can find that information. In fact I have a detailed video and article on how to mill boards up by hand, if you want to build it all traditionally: https://woodandshop.com/learn-traditional-woodworking-with-hand-tools/getting-started-traditional-handtool-woodworking-step-7/

Milling the material up with machines is also very acceptable and faster. If you don’t have machinery, you could always pay a local cabinet shop to mill/square your boards, then you could do the joinery and finishing.
