The question I have is to do with the Rod Coupling from my 1085. The coupling is dimpled from the thumbscrew tightening on the coupling when it was misaligned inside the adjustable slide. I was going to file the inside, but I don’t want to compromise the integrity of the coupling, possibly weakening it. Is there a way to pound it out from the inside or should I file it?

I am sure you have resolved this by now, but I would do just as you suggested and carefully file any obstruction in the edge of the hole. The strength of the piece should not be significantly affected.

    Have fun.
