In this video I talk all about metal holdfasts for woodworking on your workbench. A holdfast is a historical metal workbench fixture that wedges into a workbench top, holding your workpiece down firmly as you cut joints. In my woodworking school, I own 10 workbenches, and about 30 holdfasts, so I’ve got a lot of experience with using and troubleshooting different holdfasts with different styles of workbenches.
You can read about which holdfasts to buy in my Workbench Guide, here:

Will holdfasts work as well in a solid pine workbench than on hardwood benches?
Yes Bob, I also have a pine top workbench, and the holdfasts work fine.
Hi,
Talking about video can you let me know what is your shipping schedule for DVDs? I placed an order on Friday for a Bill Anderson DVD and I would like to know when it will be shipped.
Thank you.
