In the above video, Bill Anderson gives an in-depth tour of an 18th Century wood plane, specifically a wooden jointer plane. He shows how to identify an 18th century wood plane verses a 19th century wood plane, and shares his thoughts on which is better.
Bill is a handplane expert, and an accomplished maker of wooden hand planes. His workshop is full of both wood planes and metal planes, and he teaches classes on making, refurbishing, and sharpening hand planes.
